Pastoral Care & Wellbeing

Pupils feel supported, safe and fulfilled, and can be fully authentic in a values driven community. Wellbeing is a priority as happy and resilient pupils are much more likely to be successful pupils.  We emphasise the importance of a strong moral compass and being upstanders and not bystanders.

Academic Life

Pupils have a strong work ethic and love learning for learning’s sake. They are intellectually curious, enjoy challenge and take risks, and are ambitious for the future. We help pupils to embrace failure as a valuable learning tool and to develop growth mindsets.

Co-Curricular Activities

Pupils enjoy a wide range of activities in and beyond the classroom. We strongly encourage pupil leadership and voice, with ample opportunities to develop both hard & soft skills. Pupils understand their responsibilities to local, national and international communities, and the importance of a sustainable future.

I am very proud that Priory School maintains a family atmosphere throughout where pupils feel safe, secure and can thrive in all areas. It continues to focus, as it has done since its foundation, on the development of each individual pupil, building on the solid foundation of its independence, its small class sizes, its pastoral flexibility, and its sound academic results.

    Our Lady of Walsingham

Although non-denominational, Priory School is run with a distinct Christian ethos. To reflect this, the school name was in 2017 extended to Priory School of Our Lady of Walsingham, with approval from the Bishop of Portsmouth, the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham and the Custodian of the Basilica at Walsingham.
