The school day starts from 8.30am and finishes at 4pm. Fixtures, clubs and activities often take place after school, and sometimes at weekends and during holidays too.
Morning registration and form period starts at 8.30am and pupils use this time to prepare themselves for the day ahead, hand in their mobile phones and register. Pastoral care is a feature of all daily form periods.
Lessons begin at 8.40 and run in 35-minute blocks throughout the day. Most lessons will be a ‘double’, lasting for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
At 9.50am there is a 20-minute break time for the whole school. Weather permitting, all pupils (and duty staff) go outside.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, there is a dedicated ‘enrichment time’ lasting a double period. These are used for:

The Principal leads on most assemblies, but not all, and Tuesday Talks are given by members of the school, Island, national and even international communities. Visiting speakers talk about their jobs, careers and/or passion in life, for example, the Lord Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight.
Lunch time starts at 12.30pm and ends with afternoon registration at 1.25pm.
Afternoon lessons begin at 1.30pm.
The last lesson of the day ends at 3.50pm, and is followed by a 10-minute period, which is used for further pastoral work, notices and questions, mobile phone collection and dismissal at 4pm.
