Here you will find all of the details regarding our SMSC development programme within the School for pupils from Early Years to S5 (Year 11).

Spiritual

Pupils learn about the major world religions and their beliefs in the context of respect for all whatever their faith, feelings or values; to think about themselves and others in the context of the world around them; and to learn to use their imagination and creativity.

Moral

Pupils learn how to recognise right and wrong and the importance of moral choice; to respect the law and to understand consequences. They will also have the chance to look at different moral and ethical issues and have the opportunity to offer reasoned views.

Social

Pupils are encouraged to develop and learn a range of social skills in and around School and the local community. This is on the basis of being taught ‘Fundamental British Values’: democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and respect and tollerance for all people whatever their beliefs.

Cultural

Pupils learn about the various cultural influences that go to make up the wide and varied pattern of British life. Various cultural opportunities are available to all pupils so that they can fully understand the culture that they live in.
